Holy Week-Easter (Pascha)

Holy Week and Easter are the greatest of Orthodox Christianity's feast days celebrating the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

One of the most poignant days of Holy Week is Holy Friday, where the faithful participate in the Lamentations service, and Epitaphio procession in remembrance of the burial of Christ's body.

The following participatory activities allow children to experience the Holy Week events in a simple but instructive manner

The children build their own mini-Epitaphio replica while teaching them about the meaning of this sober day and its Church symbols.
